Simone Biles has pleaded with incumbent President Joe Biden to ‘make some things shake’ before he leaves office following Donald Trump’s presidential victory.
President-elect Trump, who will assume the Oval Office for the second time, defeated Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday by capturing 277 electoral college votes.
But gymnastics star Biles didn’t seem too happy about his re-election as she made a thinly-veiled post on X about his stance on abortion.
‘Mr Biden, I need you to stand up, straighten your back and make some things shake before your departure,’ Biles wrote to her two million followers.
‘xoxo the women in america.’

President Biden will remain in office until January 20, when Donald Trump is inaugurated
Trump has previously taken credit for ending Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision made in 1973 that protected the right to have an abortion nationwide.
He appointed conservative Justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett during his time in office, and those three later helped form a majority for Roe v. Wade to be overturned in 2022.
Nonetheless, Biles’ post on X did not go over well with some fans.
‘You know that women aren’t losing any rights, don’t you? I mean, if anything, we’ll ensure men aren’t competition against you and your fellow women,’ one wrote.
‘Sorry Simone but the guy [barely] knows what freaking day it is or that he is President so you’re asking for a lot,’ another said of Biden.
A third wrote, ‘Stop trying to divide people.’
And a fourth questioned what the seven-time gold medalist meant by her plea to Biden, writing, ‘Like getting men out of women’s sports?

Trump said in October on Truth Social that he would ‘not support a federal abortion ban, under any circumstances.’
However, the elimination of Roe v. Wade empowered states to place blocks on abortion access, and the procedure is currently illegal in 13 states.
Biles was not the only athlete to express concern over women’s rights with Trump set to re-enter office.
LeBron James, who previously endorsed VP Harris, took to Instagram and shared a photo of him and his 10-year-old daughter, Zhuri.
‘HEAVY ON MY HEART & MIND THIS AM MY PRINCESS,’ he wrote.
‘PROMISE TO PROTECT YOU WITH EVERYTHING I HAVE AND MORE!! WE DONT NEED THEIR HELP!’
Trump will be inaugurated on January 20.
