Amazing moment parkour runner ‘steals’ six phones worth £4,500 in just 40 seconds to show how easy it is for thieves to grab your mobile

A parkour expert has filmed himself ‘stealing’ six mobile phones worth a combined £4,500 in just 40 seconds, in an attempt to highlight just how easy it can be for thieves to rob your phone.

Adam Marr, who has been free running for 16 years, can be seen in the bodycam footage grabbing phones from the ‘unsuspecting’ hands of pedestrians in Manchester city centre.

In one clip, Marr can be seen clinching a phone from a seated local, before jumping over the bench to nab another.

A second clip shows the 31-year-old snatching another device from a child on a skateboard before vaulting over steps towards his next target.

In two other clips uploaded by the free runner, Marr can be seen leaping over canals to evade the pursuit of a ‘victim’ before escaping the clutches of another just moments later.

Speaking as to why he went through such great lengths to make the video, Marr declared his inspiration was a 2022 Met Police report which stated that a phone is stolen every six minutes in London.

Enlisting friends as actors to help film the daring video, Marr says the footage highlights just how easily someone could steal thousands of pounds worth of tech from unknowing bystanders in just a matter of minutes.

According to Marr, the main takeaway people should have after watching the video is that they should be using a wrist strap with their phones.

The content creator’s video has so far been viewed by tens of thousands of social media users, with some mistaking the footage for that of real robberies.

Receiving a mixed reaction online, Marr said; ‘Some people hated the video because it looks like it’s promoting crime.

‘It took about 10 attempts because I wanted people in the shot at the right time and some lad even shouted at me thinking I’d robbed a phone’.

The Facebook comment section under Marr’s video highlighted the varying reactions, with one user commenting; ‘He’s just showing how easy it is for us to lose them. I’m guessing no phones were lost during the making of this film’.

Meanwhile, another responded; ‘Gonna go jail, you are’, which prompted another user to remark; ‘It isn’t a crime to pay actors to have their phones robbed’.
