Fort Eisenhower on lockdown in Georgia due to ‘active threat’

A US army installation in Georgia was placed into lockdown early on Saturday morning.

Fort Eisenhower, in Augusta, posted on its official media pages saying they were initiating lockdown procedures immediately.

They urged anyone in danger ‘to take appropriate action’, but did not comment on what led up to the procedures being implemented.

The base is the current home of the US Army Signal Cops, Cyber Command and the Cyber Center of Excellence.
