British TV icon Alison Hammond is today almost unrecognisable from her time on Big Brother two decades ago — where she famously broke a table by standing on it.
After appearing on screens to promote her new book ‘Bombshell’ yesterday, social media erupted, branding her glow-up ‘stunning’ and ‘bl***y amazing’.
A common theme was a sense of disbelief that the This Morning star was, in fact, a year shy of he 50th birthday.
‘Did I just hear that right that @AlisonHammond is 49 — not a chance in hell, I thought she was in her late 30s, #mindblown’, one user wrote on X.
‘Can I just say, Alison, you look AMAZING,’ commented another.
The presenter — who is dating Russian model and masseur David Putman — has been open about her 11-stone weight loss but has never admitted to cosmetic work.
But experts have now weighed in, suggesting that Ms Hammond’s face bears the hallmarks of a range of procedures.
In a recent video posted to Instagram, Patricia Molloy of The Derma Clinic in Ireland speculated the presenter had undergone a raft of procedures to achieve her look.

These include fillers and chemical peels to help sculpt her jawline and maintain a youthful and radiant appearance.
Anti-wrinkle treatments and medical-grade skincare could also have helped her ‘glowing complexion’ and ‘prevent signs of ageing’, she added in the post which has now been viewed more than 450,000 times.
Speaking to MailOnline, Dr Fadi Hamadani, a plastic surgeon and aesthetic specialist also said: ‘Alison Hammond looks incredible, and her recent weight loss has certainly contributed to her refreshed, more contoured appearance.
‘Weight loss can naturally reshape the face, but it’s possible she’s also enhanced her look with some skin-tightening treatments to maintain that defined jawline — often referred to as a non-surgical facelift.’
Her youthful look also could be down to regular anti-wrinkle injections like Botox around her eyes and forehead, he added.
‘This relaxes the muscles in the face to smooth out lines and wrinkles.
‘Skin peels or aesthetic facials could also be helping to keep her complexion looking radiant.
‘Beyond treatments, her glowing skin is likely a reflection of her balanced diet and healthy lifestyle, too.’

Ms Hammond admitted in her 2021 autobiography that she had a gastric band operation after a ‘mortifying’ moment during an interview with Matt Damon back in 2007.
‘Halfway through the interview, something awful and embarrassing happened,’ the former Strictly star wrote.
‘My size and weight went against me and suddenly the side of the chair broke.
‘I was mortified,’ she continued. ‘I wanted the world to swallow me.
‘”Are you OK?” he asked. He was very nice about it. “Let’s get you another chair”. I’m a Black woman, but I went bright red in the face.
‘”Don’t worry about it,” I said, and I ripped the arm off the chair and flung it on to the floor.
‘That made him laugh and, instead of bursting into tears, which would have been the natural thing to do, I started laughing as well and we carried on with the interview.’
It was at that moment she decided to have the op as she ‘didn’t want to be fat anymore’.

However, following the surgery, she began experiencing complications and ‘couldn’t keep anything down’, and after two years decided to have the procedure reversed.
The star recalled: ‘It was really distressing. I felt as if my body was rejecting the foreign entity inside me and I began to get ill.
‘Normally it takes 15 minutes to remove a gastric band, but it took my surgeon an hour and a half because scar tissue had grown around mine so thickly that it was squeezing my stomach shut to the point where I couldn’t eat anything,’ she added.
‘Which was why I was always being sick.’

She now weighs 17 stone after overhauling her diet, ditching sugar and starting a new exercise routine including boxing.
