Heartbroken Liam Payne fans have gathered outside of the Buenos Aires hotel where the singer died after falling from the third floor of a hotel.
Witnesses say the One Direction star, 31, plummeted from his room at the CasaSur Palmero Hotel shortly after 5pm (ART) Wednesday evening.
A crowd of emotional fans have since come together to pay their respects to the young pop star following his sudden death.
Mourners have been seen lighting candles as a vigil is held for the father-of-one.
Fans were seen embracing each other as they cried, while others stood behind police tape.

An ambulance was also seen driving off with Payne’s body as fans watched on. Investigations into the 31-year-old’s death are ongoing.
City ambulance service provider spokesman Alberto Crescenti said he had fallen around 40 meters and suffered ‘severe injuries which were incompatible with life.’
He said: ‘The alarm was raised at 5.04pm local time saying a person was lying in an internal patio at Casa Sur.
‘At 5.11pm an ambulance arrived and the man was certified dead.
‘Afterwards we found out he had been a famous singer. Unfortunately the injuries he had suffered as a result of the fall proved to be fatal. There was no possibility of resuscitating him.’

The One Direction star’s final Snapchat post showed him happily posing with his bikini-clad partner as they looked into a mirror – with the throwback photo previously shared by Cassidy to mark his 30th birthday last year.
Further posts from the final moments of the star’s life showed him enjoying a late breakfast in his hotel room, where he revealed the pair had been ‘waking up at 1pm every day’ and deciding on Forrest Gump as his Halloween costume.
He filmed himself at the breakfast table with Cassidy where he joked about his partner leaving her hat on the table.
Another tragic selfie captioned: ‘Lovely day in Argentina’ before the star shared a photo of his hotel, writing: ‘Happy I got some time away’ followed by a heart emoji.
Payne shared a further image with Cassidy captioned: ‘Quality time.’
Despite the couple jetting away together to South America, Cassidy returned home on October 14 with the singer reportedly checking into Casa Sur alone.

The Night Changes singer had recently been spotted attending his former bandmate Niall Horan’s concert in the country earlier this month.
He had initially auditioned for X Factor in 2008, when he was only 14, and impressed judges with his own version of Fly Me To The Moon by Frank Sinatra.
However Payne gave his singing career another go auditioning for the competition again in 2010, where he quickly shot to fame as part of One Direction.
He and his former bandmates Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson, were brought together by Simon Cowell and former judge Nicole Scherzinger who saw their potential as a group.
After just a few weeks of getting to know each other and non-stop rehearsing, the group impressed Simon at their Judge’s Houses audition and sailed through to the live shows.
The pop singer later admitted to Rolling Stone that it took him ‘about a millionth of a second’ to spot the group’s worldwide potential.
The fan reaction was instant too, with 1D hysteria soon dwarfing the show. Despite the adoration, the band ultimately finished in third place on the X Factor but shortly afterwards Cowell sealed their fate by signing the group.

He was previously in a relationship with British pop sensation Cheryl Cole and the pair welcomed their son Bear Grey on March 22, 2017.
His final words on his son have resurfaced following his shock death, as he called Bear his ‘mini me’ while celebrating his 31st birthday.

Just days ago the Texan model, 23, instructed lawyers to issue a cease and desist letter to the pop star after accusing him of repeatedly contacting her.
The brunette beauty also accused the singer of obsessively contacting her friends and family including her mother Azteca Henry.
Lawyers for the star told MailOnline: ‘Maya Henry issued a cease and desist last week to Payne following the emergence of new and concerning information.
‘She has retained attorneys Marco Crawford and Daniel Cerna to represent her. At this time, that is her only comment on the matter.’
Henry has gone on to promote her debut novel, Looking Forward – an art-imitating-life romance about a girl who falls in love with a pop star.
She recently opened up about the ‘fictional elements’ to her book, which she claimed is a fiction novel based on true events from her own life.
