Katy Perry has revealed the sweet Christmas tradition she shares with her fiancé Orlando Bloom each year – and it involves neighbours such as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The pop sensation, 40, took to the stage in London on Wednesday night for the filming of her ITV concert special, Night of a Lifetime, and told the audience her Christmas Eve plans.
She revealed how she would be dressing up as The Grinch the day before December 25th and singing to her neighbours. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex live near the singer and her actor partner in Montecito, California.
Katy said, via The Sun: ‘We are going to be home in America and actually we are going to do something we do every year.
‘We rent a trolley and we dress up, and there’s lights on the trolley, and we go to all of the neighbours in my hometown and we see all of their lights.
‘Sometimes there is hot cocoa and I’m dressed like The Grinch and it’s going to be super fun. We go carolling. We are going to go and knock on people’s doors and do some carols.’
Katy and British actor Orlando are close neighbours of Harry and Meghan and the couples have become friends.
The pair were reportedly among the guests invited to the third birthday party for the Duke and Duchess’ daughter Princess Lilibet at their £20m mansion in the swanky Californian enclave favoured by many A-list stars.

Their friendship was further highlighted last year when Harry and Meghan attended the ‘Fireworks’ concert in Las Vegas sitting in VIP seats alongside Celine Dion.
Then earlier this month, it was revealed the Duke had secured the talents of his neighbour Katy to sing at the opening night of his Invictus Games.
The Grammy nominated star will headline the opening of the event for disabled military veterans in Vancouver, Canada, in February.
The 40-year-old is by far the biggest star to appear at the bi-annual event attended by Harry and his wife Meghan.
The Roar songstress and Orlando got engaged in 2019, and the following year they welcomed their daughter Daisy, four. Orlando also shares son Flynn, 13, with his ex-wife, model Miranda Kerr.
Katy, who looked sensational in a daring blue cut out crop top and matching miniskirt for her show, went onto reveal what her favourite things are in the UK.
Kicking of the list, she winked at Orlando and joked, ‘he’s my favourite British dish’, before adding, ‘No I like so much about the UK I love your sense of humour, I love that it is so dark and sarcastic.

‘I think you take family into consideration, we are here most summers with our daughter and I like that you guys have the tradition of a Sunday roast. We only do one day a year or two, Thanksgiving and Christmas.’
While filming the special concert, Katy wowed as she showed off her jaw-dropping figure in the blue co-ord and towering thigh high silver metallic boots.
The California Girls singer later slipped into a gold bodysuit and glittering silver heels as she danced around the stage.
Katy Perry: Night of a Lifetime will be a one-of 90 minute special aired on ITV and ITVX featuring a number of special guests.
The exclusive event will feature unforgettable performances of many of Katy’s legendary hits including ‘Firework’, ‘Roar’ and ‘I Kissed a Girl’ as well as special renditions from her latest album, 143 – a first for ITV audiences.
Ahead of the evening, Katy said: ‘I am SO chuffed to transform Central Hall Westminster for this very cool and cozy evening for my UK fans.
‘I can’t wait to be back in London, one of my favourite places in the world, for this up close and personal dance party of a LIFETIME.’
Alex Scott and girlfriend Jess Glynne as well as Ashley Roberts, Gemma Collins, Kate Garraway and Olivia Attwood were among the stars in attendance during the star-studded night.

In April this year, Orlando reflected on how he first ‘fell in love’ with the performer on the podcast What Now? With Trevor Noah.
‘One of the things that I fell in love with with Katy was like, I didn’t really – she hates when I say this, so I have to word it carefully – but her music was everywhere, right?’ the Pirates of the Caribbean star recalled.
‘When I came up, it was just on every radio station, but I wasn’t conscious of – like, it wasn’t what I was listening to,’ he admitted.
‘But I fell in love with Katheryn, this girl from Santa Barbara – and by the way, parents, pastors, living on food stamps. We’re not talking glamorous, Montecito,’ he noted.
Katy has spoken candidly about growing up in a poor family, falling back on food banks and at times even busking when she was a teenage girl.
Orlando had a boarding school upbringing in England before landing his star-making role in The Lord Of The Rings when he was two days out of drama school.
He reflected that he and Katy ‘both meet each other with understanding where we came from, what we worked to do, what we had to do to get to where we got to.’
Orlando explained that the Firework hitmaker ‘definitely demands that I evolve, right? And I feel I do the same for her. And that makes for fireworks, pardon the pun, but it also makes for a lot of fun and a lot of growth.’
He added: ‘And, you know, I wouldn’t change it for anything, even when sometimes it feels like: ‘How do we do this?’ Because we’ve got these two giant careers and lives and hers is even, you know, there’s even – it’s like a universe sometimes.’
