Sarah Ferguson, 65, flaunts her trim pins as she signs copies of hew new book A Woman of Intrigue in Sydney

Sarah Ferguson was a vision in black on Thursday when she stepped out in Sydney for a book signing event.

The Duchess of York, 65, was at Dymock’s Bookstore to sign copies of her new book A Woman of Intrigue.

Stepping out of a black Mercedes GLE, the former wife of Prince Andrew flaunted her age-defying trim and taut pins in a pleated black mini skirt that finished just above the knee.

She added a pop of fun to her ensemble with a colourful patterned blouse that she wore underneath a smart black blazer.

Sarah matched her outfit with a pair of black velvet flats with a dragonfly motif on the toe.

She finished her look with a glossy pink lipstick and a dramatic smoky eye.

It appeared that the humid Sydney weather was playing havoc with Sarah’s trademark auburn locks, which were experiencing a touch of frizz amid the balmy weather.

She soon had things under control, appearing inside the bookstore with a perfectly preened ‘do’.

Sarah was greeted by a throng of fans at the event, all eager to grab an autograph and have a chat with the popular Royal.

And Sarah was more than happy to oblige, eagerly scrawling her name inside numerous copies of the book as avid readers crowded around her.

Appearing on the Jess Rowe Big Talk Show podcast this week,  Sarah revealed the Queen was ‘more my mother than my own mother’ as she paid tribute to the ‘legendary’ late monarch.

Speaking with host Jess Rowe, Sarah – whose own mother died in a car accident in Argentina in 1998 – explained how the royal was a maternal figure in her life.

She said: ‘The thing about the Queen was that she was more my mother than my own mother.

‘The Queen was an iconic, legendary, stalwart, steadfast, invisible hand of love behind your back.’

Although they had a loving relationship, Sarah did admit that she had to ‘keep her wits about her’ while around the Queen.

She continued: ‘I mean, she was the grandmother of the nation. She was the steadfastness of an extraordinary pillar of strength for the Commonwealth, for the nation, for Australia, for the world.’

What’s more, the Duchess also gave an update on the Queen’s two beloved corgis Muick and Sandy, who now live with Sarah and Prince Andrew at Royal Lodge in Windsor.

‘They are national treasures,’ Sarah said. ‘So they are very spoiled.’

Sarah also recently showed off her sense of humour in her latest TikTok video, joking she’s ‘every day a bride’ as she filmed herself getting ready for a book signing in Perth.

‘Every day a bride! Every day a bride,’ she laughed in the light-hearted post, as her make-up was touched up before the event.

‘Life’s too short to be serious all of the time!’ she added in the caption of the video, showing a medley of humorous moments.

Royal fans rushed to social media to praise the Duchess for ‘her great sense of humour.’

‘Love fergie she is so down to earth’;

‘I just adore your wittiness! You are so much fun. Thank you for joining TikTok! Such amazing posts. always down to earth & you sprinkle everything with sunshine!’;
