Target Australia’s $60 designer dupe of a $380 item dubbed the must have buy of summer: ‘I am obsessed’

Target Australia has hit the mark with fashion-forward shoppers with its latest designer dress dupe.

The Lily Loves Bubble Hem Corset Mini Dress looks exactly like a $380 buy from Reformation.

The Target dress comes in black and cream and has been described as the perfect party dress for summer.

The dupe was highlighted by the Kmart Insider page on Instagram.

‘The 80s called, they want their bubble hems making a modern comeback. Try this controversial trend for less,’ the poster wrote on the picture showing the two styles side by side.

Fans appeared pleased.

‘Does this mean they finished taunting us with the 90s comeback and are going back a further decade?’ one woman asked.

While another added ‘we called them balloon dresses’.

The dress is $60 from Target

‘I was desperate for a bubble skirt when I was about 7,’ another woman said.

‘Yes it’s reminding me off my year 10 formal days 1987,’ remembered another.

Others remember them ‘coming back’ briefly in the 2000s.

‘I wasn’t here in the 80s but I do remember loving my bubble mini skirts from Supré in 2007,’ one shopper said.

Despite the dress being declared the must have summer party dress some shoppers couldn’t be sold on it.

‘Oh God, put it back in the 80s where it belongs,’ one woman said.

The Reformation dress goes up to a size 12 – while the Target dress has been scaled up to a size 20 to appeal to more shoppers.

Target appears to be gaining ground on Kmart when it comes to fast fashion dupes – with shoppers claiming clothes are higher quality.
