Ted Cruz’s daughter goes viral for savage reaction to her father’s praise for Trump

Ted Cruz’s daughter Caroline has gone viral for her shocking reaction to her father’s praise for President Elect Donald Trump.

The 16-year-old – who has previously revealed she doesn’t agree with her dad’s political views – was unable to keep a straight face after her father claimed victory as a Texas senator.

On November 5, the veteran lawmaker won a third consecutive term after a tough challenge from Democratic Rep. Colin Allred.

After defeating Allred 54 per cent to 43 per cent, Cruz took to the podium in Houston to deliver a speech in which he said he ‘hopes and prays Donald Trump will be re-elected.’

His message to Trump, who comfortably won Texas and regained his seat in the White House, was met with a look of disgust from Caroline, as she told audience members ‘don’t clap for that.’

While his family surrounded him on stage, Cruz said: ‘I hope and pray that Donald Trump will be re-elected as President of the United States. ‘

Caroline, who could be seen donning a red dress, scrunched up her face.

She then looked to the audience and seemed to say, ‘Don’t clap for that.’

The clip of the 16-year-old reacting to her father’s words has been circulating the web, becoming increasingly popular with Democrats.

After being shared on TikTok, voters have flooded the comments section to praise Caroline for her hilarious reaction.

One person said: ‘Caroline Cruz. Legend.’

‘She didn’t even try to hide it,’ someone else commented.

Another user wrote: ‘Caroline Cruz is that girl.’

This isn’t the first time the 16-year-old – who was hospitalized for self-inflicted knife wounds in 2022 – has spoken out against her father.

Two years ago, the teenager took to TikTok to reveal she often disagreed with her father’s opinions.

‘A lot of people judge me based upon him at first glance, but I really disagree with most of his views,’ she said.

Despite her own judgements of her dad, residents of the Lone Star State still voted him back in.

However, the race for the Senate was uncomfortably close for Republicans who have had a hold on the state for decades.

Recent polls had put the two political foes within a single point of one another, with Allred taking the lead just a few weeks ago.

Texas, a Republican-held state with stricter abortion laws than most places, has come under scrutiny since Roe v. Wade was overturned in the summer of 2022.

But the Republican Cruz’s message about Democrats being to blame for immigration and economic woes – the two top issues in Texas – appeared to seal his reelection.

Trump pulled off a shocking political comeback and regained his seat in the White House on the night of November 5 when he defeated Vice President Kamala Harris by gaining 277 Electoral College votes.

The 78-year-old’s red sweep of the nation sparked a wave of emotions as many women have been taking to social media to boycott dating and having sex with men, with one New York voter going as far as shaving her head in protest of Trump’s win.
