A young baby has been found dead at the side of the road on a Manchester industrial estate near Amazon warehouses.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed the tragic remains on Ravenscraig Road near Ashtons Field, in Little Hutton, to the north west of the city.

Officers have sealed off the entrance to the nearby Ashtons Field, near to a bridge over the M61. 

A major police presence remains at the scene, with a press conference expected to take place at 5.30pm.
