Zach Bryan’s decision to bring internet sensation Hawk Tuah girl on stage in Nashville has rubbed many the wrong way.
Hawk Tuah girl, whose real name is Hailey Welch, has turned into one of the most viral memes on the internet over the past few weeks, since graphically elaborating on how to give good oral sex in an on-the-street TikTok interview.
Since then, Hailey has gained a massive social media following and is even cashing in on her viral moment with merch sporting her now-signature phrase.
But many are already starting to bristle at her sudden ubiquity, as demonstrated by the online backlash country star Zach, 28, is weathering since having Hailey come up to join the band on Saturday during the singer’s The Quittin Time tour.
On Saturday, Hawk Tuah girl, whose real name is Hailey Welch, appeared on stage at the Nashville stop on Zach Bryan’s The Quittin Time tour
However, Zach faced a backlash for his decision to invite Hailey to the stage in the midst of her sudden viral fame
On X, formerly known as Twitter, people questioned the logic and cultural values that would make someone like Hailey instantly famous for such an explicit comment.
‘I know some people think the Hawk Tuah girl is funny but I find it cringy. Sorry. Now she’s on stage at a Zach Bryan concert? Why?
‘It pretty much screams “girl acts like porn star because that’s what society tells her to do.” Women have a hard enough time being taken seriously,’ one commenter bemoaned.
Others took aim at Zach specifically for giving her a platform as one wrote: ‘Zach Bryan hate continually vindicated.’
Someone else begged to know: ‘I mean, good for her, but why do we make people like this famous?’
To this, someone responded: ‘Our county has become so degenerate that this is the kind of thing we glorify.’
Over on Reddit, in a discussion about Hailey’s on-stage appearance on Zach Bryan’s official subreddit, people were overall rather forgiving of the move, with many amused at Hailey’s overnight mega-fame.
‘All in good fun… it’s stupid but fine,’ one insisted.

Users on X were less than impressed at the appearance, with some denigrating the country singer and others questioning the deeper values that ‘make people like this famous’
Over on Reddit, many defended the move to have Hailey appear on stage
Still, plenty of others admitted that they were unimpressed, and even repulsed, by her appearance on stage
‘She’s the most viral person for the last couple weeks so I understand why he brought her on stage. Do I think it’s bad taste? No, it’s his show and he can do whatever he wants, it doesn’t affect me,’ another pointed out.
Still, others were quick to express how unimpressed they were with her virality.
‘Imagine being excited for a Nashville Revival guest, and you get this lmfao,’ one wrote
‘I’m in the poor taste group,’ a second added, adding a vomit-face emoji.
‘Gross,’ chimed in a third.
‘She honestly looked like she didn’t even know the words,’ a fourth observed.
‘This is annoying, but not surprising,’ declared a fifth.
